Job Overview

University of Cincinnati (UC)- Clermont College invites applications for an Instructor or Assistant Professor - Educator position in Manufacturing Engineering Technology beginning fall semester of 2024. About UC ClermontUC Clermont is an open-admissions, regional campus of the University of Cincinnati located in Batavia, Ohio, with an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students. UC Clermont is committed to fostering diversity as well as intellectual, cultural and social development in our community. The College offers a variety of certificates, two-year technical degrees and transfer programs, along with a number of baccalaureate transfer programs.Essential FunctionsFaculty responsibilities include teaching 12-credit hours per term, typically fall and spring semesters, and performing service to the Department, College, University, Community, and a willingness to participate and assist with departmental activities and needs.
    Teaching responsibilities include teaching both face-to-face and on-line courses within the Manufacturing Engineering Technology programs to a diverse student population which may include high school CCP students, first-generation college students and non-matriculated adults from industry seeking certificate degrees. Teaching assignments may consist of on-campus courses, online or partially distance learning courses, and CCP (College Credit Plus - high school) courses off-campus. Course topics include but are not limited to: CAD, CAM, Solid Modeling, CNC, Fluid Power, Industrial Circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers, Additive Manufacturing, Robotics, GD&T, Quality & Inspection and Lean Manufacturing. Specifically, candidates will need to demonstrate proficiency in one of the following areas; CNC programming, operations, and applications including CAM programming or robotics and automation technologies.The department is committed to excellence in teaching and learning. While Educator positions are not expected to perform research/scholarship, they are expected to continue developing professionally and aiding in service is important to the department. The initial length of appointment is typically for three years and continuous reappointment for lengths of one to seven years is possible based on program need, budget and performance. This position is also eligible for promotion to the assistant, associate and professor ranks within the Educator title.
Minimum RequirementsEducation Requirement:
    An associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a closely related engineering technology degree.
Industry Experience Requirement:
    Minimum of 5 years work/industry experience in manufacturing or related field.
Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement:
    A minimum of one year of teaching/training experience, which can comprise of industry training/presentations or high school instruction where the candidate is the primary instructor.
Additional Qualifications Considered* Experience in teaching CNC applications and Computer Aided Manufacturing courses at the college level or robotic and automation applications.* A bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a closely related engineering technology degree.* Industry recognized certifications or credentials.* Teaching experience with a diverse learner population including first-generation college students.* A commitment to cultural diversity and inclusive teaching. * Experience in developing curriculum or industrial training programs and a desire to be involved in various curricular development projects.Addtional Application InformationTo apply you must go to www.jobs.uc.edu.
