Job Summary:

JFK Partners, Colorado's University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service (UCEDD) and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program is offering a full-time, 12-month Occupational Therapy Traineeship to begin July 1, 2023.

The purpose of the LEND program is to improve the health and well-being of individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities by preparing an interdisciplinary cadre of professionals to take leadership roles in providing services, improving systems of care, and building inclusive communities for these individuals and their families.

Candidates who have a strong interest in autism and other developmental disabilities and/or early intervention are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

    Acquire an understanding of the roles of various disciplines that serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Understand the perspectives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Explore community resources. Learn about disability legislation and systems. Complete and share a scholarly project related to their career goals.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
    Applicants must have completed a master's or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Candidates must be licensed or eligible to become licensed in the state of Colorado.

Condition of Employment:
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.

Some positions may require testing if access to Children's Hospital or their systems is needed at any time during employment with the University. If drug testing is required, it will be listed in the job posting.

Preferred Qualifications:
    It is preferred that the applicant have a NBCOT registered OT license in Colorado at the time of the traineeship start date; however, this is not required. A passing score on the NBCOT is required.

All courses and clinical/community observations will be in-person to gain the most from the interdisciplinary cohort, however due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be required to complete certain classes or observations online. For this reason, applicants need to have access to a computer and a reliable internet connection. Please notify us in your application if this is a barrier to your participation.

Courses completed during the training are eligible to be considered as electives for the MPH in Maternal and Child Health. Tuition for course credit is not provided above the stipend amount. Trainees who wish to receive credit need to apply to be a Non-Degree Seeking Graduate Student with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, register, and pay for the courses.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting hiring rate for this position has been established at $49,500.

The above hiring rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
