Job Description:
The Internal Data Steward role is responsible for harmonizing our common P&C code sets and hierarchies across the organization. They will be working with business partners and operations to ensure the standards and information being generated accurately support business. Strong knowledge of the P&C products and processes will be required This role requires deep knowledge of the data requirements and business use as well as associated elements and processes involved. The Internal Data Steward will help the organization synchronize their systems and leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics
Essential Job Function and Scope:
- Maintain master hierarchies for common company use while aligning data elements to business use: Coverage, Product, etc.
- Manage internal data sources: Identify and prioritize data & sources based on unique business needs across the organization; develop and maintain catalog of all existing data sources across the enterprise.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of master data elements, data quality, data management, and data governance
- Able to align various stakeholders to a common set of standards and the ability to sell the benefits of the Enterprise Data Governance program and common hierarchies and code sets.
- Data analysis skills with the capability of identifying data quality issues and correlating those issues with data specifications and quality rules
- Works collaboratively with business and IT partners across business units to implement data standards
- Enable a mindset that embraces process and data to achieve functional objectives through predictable execution against key performance indicators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-5+ years of applied experience in Data Governance or comparable positions that handle data definitions, requirements gathering and fostering business partner relationships
- 3-5+ years of applied experience working with P&C data. (i.e. Product Analyst, Actuarial, Operations)
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL
- Experience with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud (DIC) a plus
- Passionate about data and ensure policy and standard adherence
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), particularly with data manipulation and pivot tables
- Experience with scripting languages like Python and R (Preferred)
