The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of footwear, headwear and hand wear item fabrication, patternmaking, material selection, performance, usage application, sizing, and specifications to support the development of purchase specifications, fabrication efforts, end item manufacturing, and test data analysis.

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Assist with the development of footwear, headwear, and hand wear for dress, utility, and functional items, including concept development, material selection, component selection, within time and budget constraints.
• Assist clothing designers, textile technologists, and pattern designers in the development and fielding of specialty clothing items that encompass the full range of Air Force geographic and mission requirements to include cold weather and fire retardant technologies.
• Assist the USG by preparing test reports at the end of each test.
• Assist in the development of inspection plans, document inspection/acceptance criteria for prototypes, samples, test articles, and production items, and utilize them to conduct product inspections.
• Shall support the following activities: field test, fit assessments, wear test, operational utility evaluation, and product qualification test.
• Shall assist in the development of technical specifications.
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
• Must have a BA/BS and minimum of 3 - 7 years' experience in the technical discipline being performed.
• Must possess a Favorable National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI)
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Microsoft Internet Explorer, and other standard (Customer specified) applications.)
• Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Physical Skills and Abilities:
• May require lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
