Job Description:

ECS is seeking a Junior Business Analyst to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a strategic operations portfolio at DHS HQ. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage across various organizational work streams including policy, finance, security, governance, and PMO. You will be instrumental in facilitating leadership briefings, creating roadmaps, and coordinating project plans. As a member of the team, you will assist in preparing and coordinating leadership presentations and operational reviews, liaise between the strategic operations team and program directors across different divisions to ensure alignment, and collaborate with the customer engagement team to capture and analyze internal customer feedback and sentiments. The successful candidate will have a strong foundational understanding of IT and will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with brief development for program and executive meetings.
  • Assisting with the execution of strategic initiatives and the development of project-related artifacts such as charters, schedules, and briefing updates.
  • Leading status tracking and reporting on meetings and activities.
  • Supporting the project team in executing change management best practices.
  • Support progress in accomplishing program objectives and strategic operations.
  • Facilitating collaboration amongst stakeholders.
  • Conducting trade-off analyses on business and technical requirements

Salary Range: $100,000 - $108,000

Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • 7+ years in systems analysis/design of information systems programs.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT.
  • Strong writing, organizational, communication, analysis, and program-solving skills.
  • Experience in project management and strategic planning.
  • Ability work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills:
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with an existing Public Trust clearance.
  • Prior experience supporting Federal customers (DHS preferred).
  • Experience working in environments undergoing IT modernization.
  • Working knowledge of change management and project management best practices.
  • Capability to facilitate diverging perspectives toward consensus.
  • Project management certifications (CAPM, PMP).
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence).
