Main Purpose
As a Landfill Operations Manager you will be responsible for the supervision of day-to-day operations, including the training and compliance of personnel at the Landfill in Baton Rouge and TSDF facility in Port Allen.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Actively supervise activities beyond the Gatehouse
- Monitor the daily Landfill Surface Operations including grading, waste placement, compaction, coverage applications and odor control
- Monitor the Leachate Systems, Storm Water, and Perimeter Controls
- Schedule Waste Loads into the Landfill and direct the timing and location of Waste offloading
- Route all traffic including Waste Haulers, Contractors, Visitors and Equipment Operators
- Ensure that all Waste Loads deposited in the active cell are continuously monitored so as to recover and remove any/all materials not allowed on site
- Monitor and control all liquids and gas extraction systems on or around the Landfill property that are the responsibility of Tradebe
- Supervise and monitor all required testing including the sampling of Monitor Wells, Utilization of Coverage Material, and Soil Reports providing this information to the Environmental Manager upon request
- Monitor and ensure compliance with regards to all safety, environmental and equipment maintenance policies
- Ensuring that the Landfill operates in a manner consistent with the conditions set forth in the applicable permit
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Landfill Operations required
- Minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience in Landfill Operations preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must obtain Landfill Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire
