Overview
The Lead Engineer position will require a broad understanding in product compliance, test, reliability, and safety for embedded computer products. In this position, you will evaluate product compliance to industry safety standards and help identify product safety certification requirements for worldwide product releases. You will also help perform product testing and recommend measures or procedures to reduce or eliminate safety hazards. The individual will require strong communication skills and work well in a team environment.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering minimum, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
5+ years experience with engineering related to product compliance, safety agency certifications, and product testing. Also experience with NPI (New Product Introduction) and sustaining product portfolios with regard to compliance, safety, and reliability. Experience with EMC (Electro Magnetic Compliance) testing standards and procedures is valuable.
Individual must be detail oriented and capable of working on projects independently.
Additional:
Knowledge in two or more of the following UL, CSA, IEC, ISO, and CE safety agency standards required.
Excellent verbal/written skills required along with working in a team atmosphere with strong attention to detail.
Skilled with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Engineering Change Order/Bill of Materials/component management databases.
Experience in design, manufacturing, or quality assurance for embedded products, automotive systems, or service equipment is valuable.
Travel <10% may be required.
