Job Description:


The Global Public Health program in Harpur College at Binghamton University invites applications for a full-time lecturer position (non-tenure track) for a term of up to three years with the possibility of renewal. The lecturer will be part of the core faculty in the undergraduate Global Public Health program and primary responsibilities will involve both teaching and advising. The teaching load will be the equivalent of 3/3, with up to 1 course each semester being substituted with student advising and program assessment.


The successful candidate will have the ability to teach across multiple Global Public Health topics, including GPH core and capstone courses as well as courses in the selected candidate's area of expertise relating to Global Public Health. In the capstone courses, the lecturer will mentor students working collaboratively on original research projects. We especially welcome applications from candidates whose research focuses on sociocultural studies of medicine, medical practice and public health. Demonstrated excellence in teaching courses in global health and/or related fields at the undergraduate level is also desirable, as is an interest in involving undergraduate students in research.

Requirements:


Applicants should hold a PhD in global health, or a related field, by the start of this appointment. The successful candidate will also have teaching experience, with experience in teaching global public health, or related field, and the ability to teach historical and contemporary issues in global public health strongly preferred.
