About this opportunity:
The Long Term Planner plays a key role in the commercial optimization of the Toledo Refinery by interfacing daily with the refinery's optimization and asset operations groups, as well as the Fuels Value Chain (FVC) organization, to develop forward month and annual plans.

This role leads the development and communication of the annual refinery volume plan to Cenovus management. The role works with the Operations, Maintenance, and Turnaround organizations to optimize the timing of shutdowns and turnarounds to maximize refinery income.

Responsibilities:

  • Support CBM/GFO Plan processes and provide key operational and financial inputs for the Toledo site
  • Understands refinery and supply constraints, determines economic incentives to overcome constraints, and works with Refinery and Supply teams to develop solutions
  • Able to integrate information from Maintenance, Operations, and Turnaround organizations into refinery volume plans that are informed by LP modelling
  • Evaluates the cost of projected refinery equipment limitations and shutdowns and works with Commercial, Optimization, Asset teams, and FVC to minimize the lost opportunity
  • Maximizes annual refinery planned gross margin by developing Commercial strategy that optimizes crude and product slates, saturates key constraints, and minimized impacts of maintenance and turnaround events by influencing frequency and timing
  • Adds to refinery margin by identifying current opportunities that can add new value above the operating plan
  • Provides support to Commercial Crude and Product schedulers and acts as backfill for the Refinery Campaign Planner
Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering required
  • Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a refinery or related industry required
  • 2 or more years as an LP user in a refinery or supply commercial role preferred
  • Experience with Aspentech software is preferred
