Job description

Main Purpose

As a Maintenance Mechanic with Tradebe you will do a variety of maintenance work on the equipment at the plant. This is an industrial maintenance role. The ideal candidate will have industrial maintenance experience dealing with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Experience with carpentry and welding is a plus.

The role

Key job responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems of plant machinery
• Perform minor repairs of rotating and reciprocating equipment; assemble, dissemble, remove, install, clean and lubricate, as needed, shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys and other hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical parts of machines.
• Repair or replace gauges, valves, regulators and other components of hydraulic, pneumatic and other fluid powered equipment or mechanical systems
• Connect or disconnect electrical equipment or components that are incidental to repairs.
• Some light welding, grinding and fabricating is also required.
• Responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and sketches; draw sketches and schematics as needed
• Perform work through "the work order system"
• Record work performed and materials used
• Operate lift trucks and powered lifts as required

The person

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
• Previous management experience is a plus. The selected candidate will work independently with little to minimal supervision and frequently required to multi-task
• Ability to read equipment prints; secure information from OEM manuals; apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and read, understand and apply common operational documents, SOP's, and training modules
• The ability to drive a forklift and completion of OSHA lock out/tag out and confined space entry training may be required
• The selected candidate must successfully complete HAZWOPPER training (provided during first week of employment)
• Must participate in an OSHA/HAZWOPER physical examination
• Must have the ability to work occasional overtime and must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen (urine and hair), and background check
• The ability to obtain a physician's certification to wear a respirator is required
• The candidate must have own tools and valid driver's license
• The ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check, are required
