PURPOSE/RESPONSIBILITY:


Provide technical and problem solving support to all areas of the plant by repairing, maintaining, and installing equipment essential to the operation of the facility.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


• Maintain, inspect and repair equipment essential to the operation of this facility, including but not limited to: HVAC, boilers, steam systems, condensate systems, lighting, compressed air systems, dust collection, and building exteriors.
• Complete weekly assessments of systems and develop a plan to correct any deficiencies identified.
• Work with maintenance supervision for labor support to complete action items or possibly contract the work.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment and plant facilities.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, troubleshooting tools and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Demonstrate alignment with the CITE principles.
• Must be able to understand and follow general safety instructions for a manufacturing environment and any specific safety instructions for this position.
• Comply with safety regulations including lock out/tag out and maintain orderly work areas.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed to ensure the maintenance and uptime of equipment.
• The employee is required to speak and communicate with other employees.
• Employee must be able to see and hear different characteristics in operation and sound of machinery.



QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

General Requirements:
• Complete levels 1 (developmental) and 2 (core) within the allotted time in the maintenance program. Failure to complete will result in removal from the maintenance program and technician position.
• Willing to work inside and outside and climb to heights of 100 ft. or more.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required with same day notice.
• Able to obtain an AWC forklift license.

Education, Experience and Skills
• A high school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
• Minimum of 2 years of vocational or technical training in industrial mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulic, electrical, welding and fabricating.
• Industrial Maintenance experience preferred.
• Maintenance experience will be considered in lieu of training.
• Must possess effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to function independently without direct supervision and as part of a team.
• May require knowledge of PLC controls and ladder logic.
• Will require use of computerized maintenance system.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as but not limited to electrical drawings, blueprints, work orders, etc. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with co-workers.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Other mathematical skills may be required.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw reasonable conclusions through critical thinking skills.
