Job Description: • Report to Maintenance Manager
• When scheduled, on-call 24 hours a day (need to be at facility within one hour of being called in).
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance tasks on MRF equipment (hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting), Conveyors, etc.
• Responsible for implementation of directives
• Recommend procedures and schedules of maintenance activities
• Troubleshoot and repair of control and power circuits. Troubleshoot and repair all MRF equipment.
• Perform welding repairs.
• Responsible for repair and maintenance of the facilities, building, and equipment.
• Assist in inventory control of spare parts
• Maintain records and produce reports on machinery history equipment status and building conditions.
• Perform miscellaneous MRF duties as assigned. Assist with other facility related tasks as needed.
• Able to read schematic and blueprints
Required:• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• 2-3 years efficient and hands on with welding, hydraulic and electrical trouble shooting.
Preferred: • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices involved in the maintenance of MRF equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials and tools involved in the repair and maintenance of MRF equipment.
• Knowledge and expertise in recognizing, diagnosing and averting faulty operation of a wide variety of mechanical, electrical and auxiliary support equipment.
• Knowledge of safe operating procedures for overhead cranes or industrial mechanical experience.
• Possess welding skills
• Computer skills
Work Environment:This position works outside and within a material recovery facility (MRF) in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. May repeatedly be exposed to unpleasant sights and smells and at times exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions including PPE.
Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position requires the use of safety equipment, including hearing protection (optional), steel toed boots, utility gloves, reflective vest, and safety glasses. Must be able to grasp, grip controls, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and push/ pull 40-60% of the workday, as well as perform work in all weather conditions while maintaining a steady work pace. Lifting is required at times up to 75 pounds daily as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position.
Flexible scheduling (4 weekdays and every Saturday)
This position may require long hours, on call (including phone support), and weekend work as job duties demand.
