SUMMARY

Make necessary machine repairs and equipment changes to keep the production equipment running in the highest efficiency. Communicate and update Maintenance Manager and Production Supervisors. And when applicable, ensures the safety of food packaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING.

Other duties may be assigned.

-Machine repairs to all downstream equipment.

-Set up of downstream equipment (placing of equipment, or changing of equipment)

-Repairs on upstream equipment i.e. heaters, contactors, fuses, motor and drive troubleshooting.

-Changing seal bars on bag machines to match.

-Troubleshoot resin conveying systems and blenders.

-Maintain resin conveying pump filters.

-Monitor all support equipment conditions (chillers, air compressors, water pumps, core cutters).

-Repairs of equipment taken off line.

-Address any immediate safety concerns.

-Communicate with Shift Supervisor, Operators, Maintenance Manager, and Production Manager of any equipment concerns.

-Communicate any repairs, parts and supply usages.

-Troubleshoot and repair any regrind machine problems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic math, e.i., addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
