Position Overview

The Manager Business Development, Global Automotive has primary responsibility for leading the commercialization of auto adjacency products and solutions globally and to identify and negotiate strategic partnerships, new ventures and license agreements in support of industrializing the opportunity. The job holder will also play a critical role in strategy development and business incubation in segments such as extrusions and other adjacency segments within the Automotive/mobility value stream.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic adjacency partnership development for roll forming (initially) venture incubation and future adjacency incubation and/or M&A
  • Direct business case development and economic assessments both internally and with adjacency partners.
  • Support the Technology Asset Management (e.g. Technology documentation, IP valuation, Licensing, etc.)
  • Develop and manage relationships with ecosystem partnerships and/or start-up investments to further develop roll forming (initially) commercialization and industrialization of the supply/mfg chain.
  • Overall leads commercialization gating process within Novelis.
  • Grow, mature and stabilize commercial relationships for new customers.
  • Ensure seamless transition to the respective regional Value Stream at the appropriate time
  • Review and advise on market opportunities for operational and strategic fit.
  • Manage strategic marketing activities in new market space opportunities.
  • Plan and document all workstreams involved in the delivery of roll forming adoption including investments and incubation into new ventures.
  • Build workplans with milestones and deliverables for each workstream, supporting activities and timeline for each item in a sequential, holistic approach, ensuring maximum level of efficiencies and use of time
  • Work with each workstream leader individually and help escalate and resolve issues to ensure all project pieces are moving forward at the needed pace
  • Plan on the human, capital and environmental resources needed for each project and/or new venture phase, effectively present the business case for justifying the resources needed and accelerate support for additional items
  • Prepare regular project gate review materials for the Novelis Steering Committee and senior leadership
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Strategy, Marketing, Engineering or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10 years business development experience with at least 5 in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry
  • Project management experience
  • M&A exposure
  • Commercial/NewCo agreement experience
  • Experience working within a global company
  • Experience with IP management
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry
  • Ability to partner with R&D and NVG leaders
  • Project management with the ability to coordinate the activities of multiple parties, ensuring key deadlines are met, and presenting on progress
  • Presenting product information to customers; providing solution-based marketing
  • Ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders globally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional presence and the ability to report and present critical information
Location Profile

Novelis' Global Corporate Headquarters is located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia and employs approximately 250 people. It is co-located with Novelis' North America regional office which employs approximately 225 people.
