Job Title: Manager, Season and Everyday Order Solution

Summary:

The manager of SOLVE (Seasonal Ordering, Logistics, Vision, and Engagement) will partner with the Hershey's category management team to lead definition and execution of our in-house seasonal order writing solution. In addition to leading the 4 direct reports on the seasonal order writing business engagement team, this role will be in charge of planning out monthly releases, organizing and facilitating meetings and communication with leaders, and architecting roadmaps for how the solution will evolve. As the solution owner of our proprietary software, this person will also work closely with the manager of SOLVE development to determine prioritization of release items.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead and manage in-house seasonal order writing solution, partnering with the business that will drive our strategic customer partnerships, improve share, and drive distribution leveraging technology in an Agile delivery format. This includes:

Own the day-to-day technical operations for SOLVE, directing and escalating resources where necessary to ensure service levels are met. This includes management of support incidents and enhancement requests, and facilitating communications and escalations between business and managed service teams.

Aligned with senior category management leadership, define and manage a multi-year product roadmap to drive value to Hershey's and our Retailers.

Demonstrating thought leadership, introduce new concepts leveraging technology to drive Hershey's competitive advantage at retail.

Developing presentations as needed to provide transparency and alignment of key stakeholders.

Work with business, technical and implementation teams to efficiently translate functional strategy and requirements into technical solutions that drive business capabilities.

Develop recommendations, solution concepts and business cases for new investments.

Drive process automation and improvements.

Provide support and post implementation monitoring during initial rollout of solutions.

Partner with multiple groups within IT and the business to identify and address opportunities for data, process, or adoption improvement

Manage and coach team members to meet their goals, development plans, and potential for the future at Hershey.

Manage and coordinate internal teams and third-party providers who are building, deploying, and supporting capabilities

Manage status communications with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other internal stakeholders.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working on an agile DevOps team, using iterative software development methodologies; working with modern software architectures and exposure to Azure Cloud services.
  • Experience leading and coaching developers and analysts.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle and application lifecycle management.
  • Strong business account and customer relationship management skills. Demonstrated ability to work closely with internal customers, across all levels including executives.
  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a high degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision in a flexible work environment.
  • Comfortable with current Microsoft Office Suite (O365) and flowcharting tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience analyzing systems designed by 3rd parties, assessing risk, and calculating business value to influence 3rd party software product selection, including experience with SaaS solutions.
  • Knowledge of business process improvement programs within Hershey, the consumer-packaged goods industry or related field.
  • Retail and CPG Industry experience working directly with customers, clients or vendors.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred
