The Philadelphia, PA site manufactures a life-saving influenza vaccine, which is aseptically filled into sprayers for nasal administration. The site consists of two geographic locations - a facility at Red Lion Road in NE Philadelphia has about 140 full-time employees and the Bensalem storage and distribution facility has about 5 employees. The facilities are about 8 miles apart and both are situated close to I-95, the city of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia International Airport. Our product is sold in the US, UK, and other countries. Operations continue year-round, with the production season being in the summer (typically May-August).

This is a multi-career level role. The Job Responsibilities summarized below, represent the full scope of the role. The qualifications at the different career levels are also described.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks related to the processing of ingredients and/or pharmaceutical products.
  • Operates general manufacturing equipment, such as autoclaves, and automated aseptic filling lines.
  • Handles raw materials and intermediate or finished products.
  • Assists in all direct manufacturing support functions such as Thaw, Blend, Fill, Stage, Prep, Environmental Monitoring (EM) and equipment preparation.
  • Assists in indirect manufacturing support functions, such as cleaning and sanitization of the facility.
  • Performs standard operating procedures to meet current good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Accurately completes required documentation to comply with Federal regulations and assists with batch-record close-out.
  • Maintains product related records as required. Author/revise SOPs and Batch records as needed

Manufacturing Technician - Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Biologic Technician Certification or Associate Science Degree
  • 3-6 years of related experience or training preferred
  • Bachelors degree is a strong plus.
  • Aseptic processing experience in the bio/pharmaceutical industry
  • Clean room work experience, food, medical device and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing or aseptic processing and/or assembly experience, which may include environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical warehousing, pharmaceutical packaging experience is acceptable.

Senior Manufacturing Technician- Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Biologic Technician Certification or Associate Science Degree
  • 6-8 years of related experience or training without college degree.
  • 4-6 years of related experience or training with college degree.
  • Aseptic processing experience in the bio/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Clean room work experience, food, medical device and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing or aseptic processing and/or assembly experience, which may include environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical warehousing, pharmaceutical packaging experience is acceptable.
