Ardurra is looking for a Community Relations Specialist/Integrated Marketing Associate.

to join our community relations team. Serving as an extension of public information departments, we work primarily for public agency clients using the four-step public relations process - Research, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation (RPIE). We work on all aspects and stages of public outreach campaigns including construction relations, education, perception/behavior change and public involvement. Our vast expertise extends to topics including water, wastewater, stormwater, utilities, waste management and recycling.

As the Community Relations Specialist/Integrated Marketing Associate, you will primarily be responsible for supporting client goals through local and national media relations, social media and stakeholder outreach. You will be responsible for drafting, coordinating and implementing multi-channel campaigns, from goal/objective-setting to evaluation, including messaging strategy, project planning, press release and copy writing, media pitching, social media posting and ad placement and metrics gathering and reporting.

Strong written and oral communications skills are required as well as the ability to listen, synthesize, and communicate in a clear and professional manner. You must be able to study, understand and incorporate background information and survey results to plan effective and tailored communication efforts.

Though not required, being a Spanish speaker and writer is desired.

  • Familiarity and knowledge of San Diego County region, public agencies, public policy and environmental issues.
  • Open to driving to project sites throughout San Diego County and occasional travel beyond San Diego.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations or Political Science.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • At least four years of public/community relations or marketing experience.
  • Experience using social networking platforms in a business setting and ability to develop social media content and posting scheduling/strategies for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube.
