Master Planner
Silgan Dispensing Systems

The Master Planner is responsible for preparing the master production schedule of presses and implementation/monitoring of the master schedule. It advises management of capacity needs and Sales/Customer service of due dates on new orders and revised dates on existing orders.

Job Responsibilities:

• This position is responsible to track completion date, type of order, and shipment dates of all open Sales orders.
• Tracks completed jobs via IQMS. Prioritizes work to effectively, and in a timely manner, complete orders for customer deadlines. Monitors production and inventory levels. Schedules production orders on manufacturing equipment to best utilize the equipment to achieve optimum and efficient production.
• Updates all changes to Sales orders in IQMS. Notifies the appropriate personnel of the need for cut-ins to the schedule. Utilizes programs to accurately place orders on the scheduling system.
• On a daily basis must verify that the manufacturing production equipment is being utilized to complete large vendor orders.
• Compiles necessary information to produce reports. Checks possible shipment dates and refines with any updates. Reviews all Sales orders and changes to ensure that orders are being processed within specified lead times.

• Responsible for addressing all mold problems, late orders, and any questions in the production meetings. Must review reports for available press time and open orders. Reviews inventory prior to scheduling. Informs Sales of inventory levels and advises available ship dates. Expedites all production orders within their span of authority. Assists in meeting and exceeding monthly and annual sales goals
• Interacts with Sales, Toolroom, Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance to address daily concerns.
• Coordinates the sample program by receiving and reviewing samples requests, scheduling and tracking.
• Identifies all mold changes necessary to achieve the schedule and notifies the appropriate departments.
• Maintains a lead-time file for product families.
• Complete special projects as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/ Previous Experience:

• One to five years of planning experience required. Within an injection molding facility is preferred.
• Associate's Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience is acceptable
• Knowledge of the fundamentals and practices of inventory management, production control, plant scheduling, and supply chain management.
• Experience with IQMS is preferred
