Dragados USA is seeking a Mechanic to currently support the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel expansion project. This position is required to perform both preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtimes, as be part of the mobilizations and assemblies of the different pieces of equipment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Preventive maintenance and repairs

• Heavy equipment for construction: Large cranes and other lifting equipment, power-generators, pumps, ground movement equipment, drilling and pile driving equipment.
• Ancillary Equipment: Custom made systems to support tunneling operation including:
  • Conveyor Belt System
  • Bi-Component Batch Plant
  • Bentonite Plant
  • Polymer pump station
  • Industrial Water System:
    • Water Pump station
    • Chillers
    • Dewatering system
  • Tunnel Ventilation System
  • Air Compressed System
  • Shaft Gantry Crane
  • Water Treatment Plant
  • Multiservice Tunnel Vehicles

• Tunnel Boring Machine: Earth Pressure Balance TBM 43.5' diameter from Herrenknecht, with 9,400hp, 181,458kN of thrust force and 46,183 kNm of nominal torque.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Able to identify, define, and resolve mechanical problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions independently.
• Able to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical, written or oral form
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to equipment operations
• Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations in order to keep time and material records
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness of repairs and maintenances
• Capable of utilizing the internet effectively for research, evaluation, and repair completion
• Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• 3 years heavy & truck equipment maintenance experience
• Must be 18 years in age or older
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined
• Must maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements
• Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls
• Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations
• Adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as set forth by the US DOT
• Must have own tools
