Mechanic Internship
We are seeking mechanic intern applicants who are career ready, new to the industry or field, have a strong passion for the profession and aspire to be a mechanic in the construction industry. Candidates
for the position must have the following:

Job Responsibilities
Upon completing the mechanic internship role assignment, you will be able to conduct,
maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components, identify parts or machine.
components in need of change out or replacement, place equipment and parts orders. You will build a foundation of experience and knowledge to perform a variety of tasks to support the day-to-day operations associated with maintaining a fleet of heavy industrial trucks, equipment and the shop. In
order to perform the essential functions of this position, the minimum knowledge, skills and abilities are listed below:
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance inspections under the supervision of a level II or III
mechanic.
• Limited demonstrated knowledge of air braking systems and components, hydraulic systems
and components, and electrical systems and components.
• Some knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engines and components.
• Some knowledge of drive train components (clutch, transmission, rear end)
• Some knowledge of air conditioning systems and components.
• Willing to attend all technical training, safety, and OSHA classes offered by Preferred.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedules.
