Job Summary

Responsible for developing manufacturing processes for Nordson Sonoscan products to improve yield, throughput, quality, and costs. Has design experience and ability to understand interactions at the system level. Has responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Plans and develops engineering projects which directly contribute to major company programs. Maintains liaison with individuals and groups within and outside his/her organization and has responsibility for assessing technical matters pertaining to his/her field.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage projects involving members of various departments to establish, document, and achieve project milestones.
  
• Develop, detail, and test mechanical design solutions for internally and externally driven projects.
  
• Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
  
• Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  
• Provide engineering support for a capital equipment manufacturing line.
  
• Other duties may be assigned as required.
  

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a BSME plus 0 - 4 years of experience

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in SolidWorks.
  
• Lean Six Sigma certificate with DOE and SPC experience.
  
• Strong problem solving and analytical decision-making processes.
  
• Excellent mechanical design skills with a system level understanding.
  
• Strong teamwork within department as well as external groups, e.g. new product development, drafting, purchasing.
  
• 2 years' experience working with (design/manufacture of) Capital Equipment is preferred.
