Overview

i3 is seeking a mechanical engineering intern to join our team for a once in a lifetime opportunity developing a unique and cutting-edge ground test facility. This new capability is being developed by a group of leading defense industry contractors across the United States and the task is to construct the first of its kind Hypersonic Wind Tunnel Test Facility. This position is expected to last the duration of Summer 2023 and is contingent based upon funding.
Responsibilities

• Support engineering efforts in preparation for Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).
• Assist in developing procurement documentation to support large scale design efforts.
• Assist in the coordination with key vendors and/or suppliers.
• Assist in the management and organization of government furnished equipment (GFE).

Qualifications

• Education - Must be enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a BS in an engineering field from an accredited university.
• Familiar with the use of CAD software.
• Must be able to manually lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required.
• United States citizenship.
