Location: Hicksville, NY
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Medical Assistant at its' medical offices in Hicksville, NY.
At the moment, this is a long-term (6 months+) contract assignment, it will likely go perm though.

The hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 6:30pm .

1-2 Saturdays per month 7:30am-12:30pm.

40 hours per week, the schedule may rotate some.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Greeting patients and walking them back to designated exam rooms to perform clinical intake: med history, medication reviewal, temperature, blood pressure, blood oxygen, height and weight, documenting reasons for visits.
• Performing tests as requested by provider; EKG, blood draws, etc.
• Assisting providers and managers as necessary in the patient room and out
• Assist to manage fax boxes and route labs, messages and making any necessary outbound phone calls to obtain patient information and documentation
• Ensure rooms are stocked and supplies are maintained or disposed of as necessary

The candidate will work with a provider daily and help support the clinical team.

The ideal candidate will be customer service centered who can work independently and as a team with the clinical department/ provider they are assigned for the day. Ideally, the candidate will have medical certification from the state.
