Our practice is located at 29 Elm Street South Deerfield, MA 01373. We are committed to providing comprehensive, expert primary care for adults and children in South Deerfield and surrounding communities. With 20 years of established service, South Deerfield Family Medicine provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages in southern Franklin County.

Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite, Monday through Friday. We are open from 8:00am to 5:00pm, so schedules are staggered accordingly. As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team. Our Medical Assistants work 1 to 1 with their assigned provider. We are open to those who have completed a formal Medical Assistant training course or have a EMT-B certification.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
  • Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone triage, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
  • Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.


Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program or EMT-B certification required

• Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association required

• CMA, AAMA, RMA, CNMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification preferred
