The Actuarial Practice of Oliver Wyman works with companies to manage property and casualty, life and annuity, and healthcare risks across a broad range of industries. Our firm assists with quantification of risk and loss exposures, and provides advice on external business strategy, internal risk management, implications of mergers and acquisitions, and new product development. We use mathematical and statistical modeling skills and our qualitative assessment methodologies to assist our clients in evaluating and addressing risk. Job Overview

Oliver Wyman Actuarial is seeking exceptionally qualified candidates for a Deputy Chief of Staff position supporting the US Life Actuarial practice reporting to the Chief of Staff. The Deputy Chief of Staff will play a critical role in supporting the Chief of Staff on various projects and initiatives aimed at advancing practice priorities. This position will involve close collaboration with the Chief of Staff, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams to drive strategic objectives, facilitate effective communication and ensure the successful execution of key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Chief of Staff on a broad range of practice needs, including but not limited to business development, communications and practice and operations support. This includes gathering data, conducting research, analyzing information, and preparing reports as needed.
  • Support talent management across the practice including recruiting and onboarding as well as training and development of staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings including agenda development, logistics and follow up actions.
  • Serve as a point of contact and liaison for internal and external stakeholders, representing the Chief of Staff as needed and fostering positive relationships at all levels of the organization. Manage confidential and business critical information with discretion and professionalism.

Technical Skills and Desired Experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in a leadership role supporting senior executives or leadership teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in writing presentation ready PowerPoint decks and experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support the business
  • Prior client-facing experience with demonstrated ability to gain client trust and represent the company well
  • Salesforce knowledge a plus but not necessary

The applicable base salary range for this role is $84,000 - $137,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, exams, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
