Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Operational Readiness Advisor and Engagement Lead with extensive experience in the Energy or Petrochemical industry. The successful candidate will lead Operational Readiness studies and provide subject matter expertise to our client base. This may range from discrete scopes of work to providing guidance throughout a full program from beginning to end; and would typically include client and stakeholder management, program scope definition and planning, organizational development, operational philosophy, and strategy development.

The candidate should be a highly motivated OR professional with the ability to lead and manage multiple complex projects across various locations. Has the ability to manage and deliver whilst ensuring all schedule, cost and quality objectives are achieved. With proven subject matter expertise in OR and able to communicate and engage confidently at all levels within an organization.

Duties:

  • Lead a team of Operational Readiness practitioners in the delivery of services
  • Development of OR Program Management Plan and Scope of Work documents
  • Provide strategic OR advisory services to a range of industrial clients engaged in major capital projects
  • Develop high quality deliverables relating to facility operations, maintenance, and organizational development
  • Provide operational requirements for design and assist in resolving design/operation differences with the design engineering team
  • Represent OR in Project HSE Studies & Reviews e.g. participate in HAZOPs/HAZIDs, Model reviews and Audits
  • Carry out assessments and definition of O&M Management systems
  • Manage ongoing costs ensuring visibility, adherence, and control of project budget
  • Oversee the development and update of project schedules and resource plans
  • Carry out detailed program risk assessments and develop risk management plans
  • Carry out stakeholder analysis and develop stakeholder management plans
  • Develop and manage effective project communication using a variety written and verbal methods
  • Develop and issue project reports providing detail of progress against key metrics and performance indicators
  • Support the Business Development process though client presentations, cost estimates and proposal development


Skills / Qualifications

  • Project/Program Management experience with a demonstrable track-record of strong performance management
  • Highly Experienced in Operational Readiness requirements
  • Previous experience in supporting capital projects
  • Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Operational Management Systems
  • Minimum 10 years energy industry experience, either in the Maintenance or Production Operations
  • Results orientated and focused in the execution of predefined objectives
  • Experienced in the leadership and management of skilled workers/subject matter experts
  • Experienced in change management, preferably in the Energy sector
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable strength in communication
  • Ability to produce reports and technical procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required
