Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing security services in the Strozier and Dirac Libraries. Provides a uniform presence in the prevention of criminal, unsafe, or dangerous activity by staffing the Strozier and Dirac library security desks. This may include resolving issues with patrons, staffing shortfalls and liaising with FSUPD. Monitors public use of library facilities and contacts building maintenance as needed. Assists in preparing maintaining, and providing updates & reports related to the operation of security. Recommends and enforces security procedures and policies. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency.

Experience demonstrating effective customer service skills.

The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for extended periods of time is also required.

Anticipated Salary Range

$10.00 per hour

Schedule

Part time 29 hours in the FSU work week

Sun 9:30a-6:30p
Mon 4:30p-10p
Tues/Wed/Thurs - 4:30p-9:30p

Hours and days are subject to change

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
