Payroll Software - nothing specific required // they train

PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR

Calculate weekly hours in compliance with collective bargaining agreements and CA DIR.

Enter timesheets and verify accuracy.

Balance payroll to general ledger and tax liability.

Experience and Skills

At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably a lead position

Calculation and payment of weekly payroll, payroll taxes and garnishments - familiar with process

Preparation and filing of 940, 941, DE9, and 1095 - familiar with tax forms

Calculation and payment of Union Trust Fund benefits

Experience with prevailing wage and DIR entry desirable

Experience with construction labor desirable

Multi-state payroll processing a plus

Membership in applicable professional organizations a plus

Other Accounting

Familiar with general ledger and journal entries

Experience with workers' compensation and trust fund audits a plus

Construction job cost experience a plus

Software experience

Outlook, Excel, Word - minimum Excel competency at medium level

Viewpoint, American Contractor, or other in-house accounting software a plus

Other Clerical

10-key by touch

Typing at 50 wpm minimum

Experience answering multi-line phone system - coverage for receptionist

Customer service - internal and external

Other - Human Resources - skills desirable but not required

Human Resources experience, certification, or course work a plus

Knowledgeable in union and non-union labor compliance a plus

Benefits Administration (health, 401(k), vacation, sick, holiday) a plus

Implementation of and compliance with policies and procedures a plus

Work injury and illness reporting a plus
