Job Summary:

Although we are currently in the North American market, we see great opportunity to expand our markets. To support this, we are currently looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join the Human Resources (HR) department.

The successful candidate will process payroll transactions, oversee USA payroll payments, and work closely with other areas of HR to coordinate changes in payroll (e.g. new hires, terminations). Additional responsibilities would include processing timesheets, updating payroll records, and answering employee questions about payments. Ultimately, the candidate will ensure employees are compensated correctly and on time.

Possessing excellent attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate flexibility becoming both a technical subject matter specialist and general business advisor.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Process attendance records and other documents (e.g. Tuition reimbursement forms, garnishments)
  • Check US payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork and approvals are in order
  • Coordinate with other areas of HR about changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires)
  • Oversee electronic payments and distribution of year end documents
  • Confirm salary or wage adjustments are entered accurately and timely
  • Process other financial compensations or deductions (e.g. annual bonuses, severance pay, taxes, leave of absences)
  • Produce reports to upper management upon request
  • Answer employee questions about salaries and payments
  • Work with Finance department on audits or requests ((e.g. tax forms and W-2)

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a payroll coordinator or similar role
  • Familiarity with payroll processes
  • Good knowledge of legislation relevant to accounting and US payroll (such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act or FLSA)
  • Working knowledge of Workday payroll system, a plus, but not required.
  • Comfortable with Excel (functions, data, etc.)
  • An analytical mind with good math skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
  • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
  • A basic understanding of insurance, reinsurance, or finance is a plus
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects/priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Diploma/BSc/ BA in accounting, finance, or relevant field

For NYC only: The base salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
