POSITION: Union: Pipe Fitter B (CNG-CT-East Hartford - Meadow St) (R-04612)
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1
LOCATION: CNG-CT-East Hartford - Meadow St
QUALINICATIONS:
- Must pass the Bennett mechanical comprehension test.
- Graduate of high school, trade school, or other formal technical training with experience in the plumbing / pipefitting or HVAC field
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Must have a MVD license and good driving record.
- Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, with basic skills and experience in cither Distribution or Fitting work Understand and follow oral and written instructions and interpret drawings or prints.
- Requires mandatory progression to the bottom of Pipe Fitter A classification within 18 months.
- Requires successful completion of a written test and field observation audit.
- Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and manual labor duties as required.
DUTIES:
- *Coordinates and performs work assigned.
- *Performs or assists as necessary in installing, changing, relocating and removing meters; installing, maintaining,
repairing and removing piping, meter connections and service regulators. - *Installs, repairs and maintains gas, water, vent and other piping.
- *Must be capable of working semi-independently within 12 months.
- *Has full responsibility for performing work safely and in a satisfactory manner.
- *Responsible for organizing and maintaining tools and equipment assigned in an orderly condition; maintaining truck stock in accordance with prescribed requirements.
- *Performs other miscellaneous Fitter Division work as required.
- *Assists Serviceman on jobs requiring sori-skilled manual assistance, and performs other miscellaneous work as required.
- *Performs the duties of a Meter Representative A.

This position is a DOT Safety Sensitive Position. Any applicant accepted for this classification would be required to comply with all drug and alcohol regulations. This Position may require passing a Respiratory Fit Test.
