Job Summary and Scope:

HYBRID ROLE- 2 DAYS PER WEEK IN OFFICE, 3 DAYS PER WEEK REMOTE - BASED OUT OF OUR HEADQUARTERS IN ATLANTA, GA.

REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE DIRECTOR OF PRICING STRATEGY & EXECUTION

This role offers the opportunity to use data analysis and data modeling together to design and execute pricing processes and strategies for a Fortune 500 company. The role requires a demonstrated work history of a minimum of ONE year with Hands On experience using tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, MS Excel pivots tables or data science driven price setting models and be able to communicate your findings in a clear and concise manner.

The Pricing Strategies Specialist will be partnering with Category Management, Sales, Commercial Analytics, IT, Software Vendors and other functions presenting all of their findings for pricing optimizations and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Transfer supplier cost changes into customer price changes for the sales team to action while ensuring that margins are maintained
  • Thoroughly analyze and validate supplier cost change and customer price change data to ensure that supplier cost pass through to customers is accurate and timely
  • Analyze trends in supplier, customer, item, price, cost, and margin data to provide market based pricing analyses
  • Partner with various business leaders to design and execute market and non-market based price optimization efforts and develop custom models to support those efforts
  • Present summary outputs of recommended price actions using analytical tools such as MS Access, MS Excel pivot tables, histograms, scenario and sensitivity analysis tools
  • Will own the execution of price and margin enhancement initiatives to assure capture of margin improvement opportunities
  • Assist with sales training to maximize price performance and utilization of pricing tools
  • Engage with sales and sales management to improve seller practices, improve escalation processes, and improve transaction accuracy
  • Provide expertise to pricing discussion and provide advice when pricing large or long term customers
  • Work in tandem with business leaders to ensure all pricing related initiatives are rolled out to sales
  • Research and resolve pricing errors within pricing and ERP systems
  • Test and validate system fixes and upgrades
  • Provide reporting (overrides, opportunity reports, scorecards, ad hoc) and conduct analysis
  • Ensure connectivity and alignment with cost and rebate teams
  • Perform price/product analysis looking for growth opportunities and review with the sales team
  • Provide experienced product and vendor knowledge on their assigned accounts and viewed as a valued resource by peers and managers
  • Respond to pricing related inquiries

Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree (major in business/engineering/statistics/mathematics, or related fields preferred)
  • 1 to 3 years work experience within pricing, finance, or similar roles
  • High integrity and work ethic
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong technical skills and very adept learning new systems
  • Strong analytical skills using tools such as Alteryx, MS Excel pivot tables, scenario and sensitivity analysis, histograms etc…
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong customer service skills (friendly / courteous / helpful)
  • Strong communication skills (listening / verbal / written) and proficient with Power Point
  • Excellent follow-up skills and high sense of urgency
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Problem solver and adaptable to change
