Position Overview:

The Projects Process Engineering Supervisor leads a team of Process Engineers and has responsibility and accountability for the technical scoping and successful development and management of assigned projects within the business unit's portfolio. In addition to providing technical assurance for process engineering deliverables, the Projects Process Engineering Supervisor will manage project assignments, prioritization, and workload for their direct reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reports
  • Develop staff competencies, tools, and processes
  • Manage scope, risk, and interface to achieve project goals
  • Support the development of the project's business case
  • Lead the effort for option identification that aligns with the project's business case
  • Review and validate conceptual designs
  • Participate in scope definition effort for the identified options
  • Support the development and provide review of process engineering deliverables
  • Support the development of the project's cost estimate and schedule
  • Review and validate conceptual designs
  • Provide Technical Assurance of all project Process Engineering work

Experience and Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 10+ years Process Engineering experience working in the refining or chemicals industry
  • Understanding of how to manage critical knowledge and information to Stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working Knowledge of Risk Ranking processes
  • Knowledge of Refinery and Supply Chain Economics
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) including the use of pivot tables, vlookup, charts, and linking capabilities
  • Knowledge of steady-state simulation packages such as SimSci/Hysys
  • Experience working with and applying design standards (ASME, API, etc.)

Physical Requirements:
  • Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)
