Production Planner

Basic Job Functions:

Plans and prepares production schedules for all departments in steel making operation. Analyze production specifications and capacity data to coordinate meeting customer orders and implementing forecasting and analytical tools. Track and improve material programs, including supply chain management, finished and semi-finished inventory planning, and Inventory KPI measurements. Effective interaction with all personnel at the facility. Implement and lead conversion to single ERP from currently utilized tools and software packages. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Detailed Selection Criteria:

• APICS Certifications- CPIM, CSCP, etc.
• Effectively coordinate Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
• Analyzes capacity data and perform quantitative analysis to streamline manufacturing processes, tools, and capital requirements
• Prepare forecast scenarios to optimize production and inventory programs in process
• Maintain and Improve On Time Measurement Tools and visibility
• Ability to work well with all types of people in different situations
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments at all levels
• Self-motivated, goal oriented, well organizedand demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and comfort working with various software
• Strong problem solving and multitasking skills
• Basic accounting skills and understanding of inventory processes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of steelmaking processes (Melting, Rolling, Shipping, and Scheduling)
• Understanding and experience with ERP driven MRP programs (Oracle preferred)
• Commitment to self-improvement, cost reduction, product quality, and customer service
• 4 year college degree in related field
