The production planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels.

Responsibilities

  1. Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the plants productive capacity.
  2. Analyzes warehouse order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  3. Manages inventory levels, and schedules availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules.
  4. Answer daily request from corporate planning on delivery status.
  5. Orders raw material - steel - bi-weekly.
  6. Reviews daily WIP material flow on production floor.
  7. Receives and reviews warehouse order against current requirements and WIP using material requirement planning report.
  8. Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.


Qualifications

Two (2) year degree in Production Control /Materials Management. Three to five years of experience within a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient computer skills including Excel, Access and Word
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and extreme accuracy
  • Above average communication skills, ability to work effectively with employees, vendors and managers.
  • Ability to handle constant changes in daily activities.
  • A good understanding of shop floor control techniques and material requirement planning system
