Production Superintendent - Converting Department -Concord, NC

Shift- 2nd (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)

Greif's Corrugated sheet facility located in Concord, NC is looking for a seasoned Production Superintendent with strong knowledge and experience in leading a corrugated box converting department. This leader will lead our efforts as we introduce a brand new Jumbo Flexo machine being installed into our corrugated sheet facility in the Fall of 2022.

Job Description Summary

Lead a team of hourly colleagues and serve as the plant's lead subject matter expert on our first piece of Corrugated Converting equipment, a brand new Jumbo Flexo being installed in the fall of 2022.

Day to day responsibilities will include serving as the subject matter expert for our Corrugated converting operation safely leading and evaluating team members to achieve operational results in that area while ensuring policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed.

• Supervises the day-to-day activities at the Jumbo Flexo machine center monitoring colleague productivity.
• Continuously improves the converting department's performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
• Run department meetings, confirm production progress, and responds to delays and downtime issues.
• Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to the team and the company.
• Encourages joint problem solving, personal safety, and individual development.
• Implements and enforces compliance with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Manages and maintains safety observances, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
• Monitors work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
• Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to the team and Greif.
• Maintain close connection and contact with other departments.
  
  Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 7+ years in a leadership role in the area of corrugated converting specifically as it relates to Die cutting, folding and gluing corrugated box operations.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong corrugated converting operational knowledge and experience required
• In-depth understanding and operational knowledge in the areas of corrugated converting operations and processes.
• 7+ yrs of supervisory and leadership skills.
• Jumbo Flexo experience and knowledge strongly preferred but not required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software a plus.
