Job Title: Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Duration: 13-week assignment
Schedule: Day Shift, 8 hours per day (Monday to Friday)
Location: Tulsa OK (Home Health, specific territory to be determined)
Job Summary:
As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with patients in the comfort of their own homes. Your role will be crucial in assisting patients with their physical therapy needs and helping them regain strength and independence. By providing personalized care, you will enable patients to actively engage in their desired daily living activities, such as attending church or tending to their gardens.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one physical therapy assistance to patients in their homes
- Collaborate with the physical therapist to develop individualized treatment plans
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility and function
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper techniques and exercises for continued progress
- Assess and recommend assistive devices or modifications to improve safety and independence at home
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient evaluations and interventions
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree from an accredited Assistant school of Physical Therapy
- Current license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in NM
- Current CPR certification
- Negative TB screen and Hepatitis consent/declination
- Minimum of one year experience in a home health setting
