Job Description

Eurofins Donor & Product Testing is looking for a QA Laboratory Supervisorto assist with providing comprehensive laboratory services to meet the unique testing needs of the transplant community. Our clinical labs preform microbiology testing to determine microbial cleanliness, infectious disease and donor eligibility testing, as well Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) testing to successfully match organ transplant recipients with compatible donors. Laboratory Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the department to insure smooth flow of samples and testing
• Oversees the scheduling of staff to ensure production schedules are met
• Counsels staff with regard to problems encountered in daily operations
• Works with Quality Assurance to resolve client complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendation to management
• Identifies process improvements to better meet client expectations and company objectives
• Recommends new equipment for the department
• Oversees the monitoring of inventory/ordering by establishing and maintaining par levels and re-stocking points for supplies and reagents
• Serves as a liaison for the department to outside vendors
• Performs duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies
• Supports VRL Eurofins' business philosophy, leadership values and ethics
• Conduct timely investigations in coordination with Quality Assurance Related to site quality events, including but not limited to customer complaints, inquiries, non-conformances, corrective actions, and audit findings.
• Performs duties n compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies and cGMP expectations, including, but not limited to: Facility and equipment maintenance, validation review and approval, training (internal, continuing education, proficiency testing, annual GMP, etc.)
• Meets basic expectations of VRLS's quality management system, including but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, accurate recordkeeping so the company may meet its stated quality policy and objectives.
• This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials. All employees must abide by VRL Eurofins's Safety and Exposure procedures. This includes using the provided safety clothing and equipment.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• NOTE: HI laboratory license is mandatory for the role; the loss of licensure or failure to renew license will result in an unpaid of leave of absence or termination (to be determined by laboratory Management).
  • Licenses: MLT/MT/CLS/MLS/CHT/CHS/MB or related REQUIRED
• Infectious disease test experience and related licenses required; HLA experience and license is PLUS
• Bachelor's degree with basic science education, including math, chemistry, physics; biology/molecular biology/microbiology/immunology preferred;
• Ability to organize, communicate, teach, and work with others in an effective manner
• Ability to manage and schedule the work of others
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local standards, regulations, guidelines, and requirements affecting operations of a clinical reference laboratory
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, 5 days a week., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Honolulu, HI are encouraged to apply.
