The QC Associate works closely with Principal Investigators, Scientists, Quality Assurance, and Management on timely and efficient reagent, sample, and lab supplies processing. Performs a variety of activities related to reagent and sample login and verification in GxP Laboratory to support the Quality Control group.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Receiving deliveries containing lab-related materials and reagents for processing including client-related samples and critical reagents
  • Performing a visual inspection for container integrity and confirmation of receipt temperature
  • Verifying materials/samples against shipping documentation for each shipment
  • Contacting appropriate personnel of damaged materials or to resolve any receipt issues in a timely manner
  • Storage of received materials at designated storage temperatures
  • Notifying appropriate laboratory personnel of receiving the lab/client-related materials
  • Obtaining Certificates of Analysis (CoA's) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) from vendors for received reagents and maintaining the sites SDS
  • Uploading CoA's and SDS into an electronic document management system
  • Maintaining the centralized Receiving area in an inspection-ready state
  • Ordering supplies for Quality Control group
  • Review logbooks and other documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Distribute test method Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and SOP Attachments for use in the lab
  • Supporting laboratory staff in navigating basic Quality Control procedures
  • Contribute to all Quality Systems such as Deviations, Change Control, CAPA and Training
  • Adherence to applicable SOP's
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required

Job Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 1 to 2 years related experience in laboratory, CRO, R&D or sample management and tracking environment is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Able to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
  • High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures
  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Detailed oriented
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in handling biological and chemical samples is a plus
  • Experience in regulated environments (GLP/GMP) is a plus
