SUMMARY

Responsible to the Chief Quality Control Inspector for the accomplishment of assigned functions following Federal Aviation Regulations and the Company's General Maintenance Manual. Inspects aircraft's airworthiness by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the daily oversight of the Quality Control Inspectors, including scheduling for A checks, scheduling for TDY assignments, and daily work assignments.
  • Responsible for reviewing the legibility, accuracy, and completeness of all aircraft flight log entries following procedures established by the FAA and Amerijet data.
  • When required, executes the proper forms when components or parts are replaced on an aircraft or when work scopes are found/need to be expanded as a result of findings from an inspection.
  • Reviews and determines that all items listed in the logs and appropriate forms have been properly executed and signed by production personnel.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork as a result of work performed during the work shift.
  • Inspects incoming parts to ensure compatibility with Amerijet's needs and specifications. Inspects for shipping damage and proper airworthiness certifications and issues Amerijet equipment transfer tag (ETR) tags and files the vendor's tag with Quality Control.
  • Shall review aircraft flight logs to ascertain that maintenance other than at the Principal Maintenance Facility has been cleared and completed correctly.
  • Reports to the Chief Inspector\Director Quality Control all matters adversely affecting the airworthiness of flight equipment.
  • Reports to the appropriate Maintenance Supervisor on matters adversely affecting the airworthiness of flight equipment to aid in the efficiency of maintenance, so that a Maintenance Supervisor may correspondingly realign his/her work staff focus if necessary.
  • Notifies the Chief Inspector of any unsafe equipment or facility conditions.
  • Revises aircraft manuals as requested.
  • Ensures that the inspection office and receiving cage is maintained in a clean and orderly condition also is responsible for the proper use of these areas to include their contents.
  • Determines the serviceable working condition of all inspection department equipment and tools signed out during his/her shift and notifies the Chief Inspector of any discrepancies.
  • Signs out technical drawings utilized during his/her shift and ensure the return of such drawings in their entirety to the proper file.
  • Inspects and evaluates aircraft parts at vendors' locations for possible purchase.
  • Represents inspections and other work by contracting agencies.
  • Identifies any unsafe work practices or conditions to the person(s) involved and to the Chief Inspector.
  • Provides orientation and maintenance training to employees as directed by the Chief Inspector.
  • Schedules and performs vendor and fueling agency audits.
  • Applies serial number and calibration due to date decals to newly purchased or calibrated equipment.
  • Review work deferment reports for correctness \completeness and sign in the "Accepted By" Quality Control box
  • Will be responsible for all tasks assigned to him/her by the Chief Inspector and/or DQC.

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalency required.
  • Must hold a valid mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings.
  • Must have a valid passport

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1-year experience in position returning Aircraft to Service
  • Must have three years experience (within the past six years) in either maintaining large transport category turbine-powered aircraft for an air carrier or repairing airplanes in a certificated airframe repair station that is rated to maintain a transport category turbine-powered aircraft. Experience as an Inspector or Supervisor with an organization responsible for maintaining large transport category turbine-powered aircraft is desirable but not required.

TRAVEL

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes for extended periods.
