We are looking for a quality engineer to monitor and improve the overall quality of our operational processes and outputs. The quality engineer's responsibilities include: *Analyzing the quality of product and service* Conducting quality audits* Making recommendations to management based on findings about product quality* Developing and enforcing quality control standards and procedures* Evaluating and improving production processes.

Reporting directly to the Quality Director, this position is based in Shreveport, LA.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Responsible for daily tactical issues related to internal and external quality in the functional area.
  • Conducts and leads process improvement efforts as an individual and through teams to complete initiatives.
  • Supports related operations to improve and sustain KPIs.
  • Develops and sustains the Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO standards.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitors production floor processes for conformance to KPI's and customer requirements which includes fit, form, function, reliability and appearance criteria.
  • Investigates reported quality issues and drives the root cause/corrective action process.
  • Responds to day-to-day design, production, supplier, and customer related quality issues.
  • Collects, organizes, monitors, and distributes information related to supplier quality and process improvement functions.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence.
  • Collaborate with operations to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for change.
  • Provide aid or direction to less experienced staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or 8 years' experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5 years quality experience

Skills & Abilities:
  • C.Q.E. and/or Quality Assurance training with certificate underway or completed a plus.
  • Able to read prints, specifications, and schematics.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001:2015
  • Six Sigma, and other statistical and quality tools
  • Lean manufacturing concepts
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office products.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
