We are looking for an eager employee who can think on their feet to join our Quality Assurance Team at our Irwindale, CA location. The right candidate will be able to learn new skills and adapt to changes in duties and work load. The right candidate would be able to work on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

The Position

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs, records and evaluates chemical and physical tests necessary to control production processes or evaluate quality of in-process and finished goods.
  • Recommends corrective measures and determines corrective actions to be taken.
  • Reports deviation from quality levels and standard practice to immediate supervisor and shift foreman.
  • Ensures that practices being used are in accordance with standard practice data.
  • Provides technical assistance to department heads in project and experimental work.
  • Identified all rejected material and assist in its reclassification and disposition.
  • Provides technical support for experimental and project work by recording and correlating operating data and results.
  • Recommends improvements in process, standard practices and product evaluation.
  • Performs process audits as determined by operating procedures and job work practices.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience: This is an entry-level position and does not require prior experience in Quality Control. Applicants with relevant work experience and/or training will will be given priority. On-the-job training provided.

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software and Database software.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Schedule: Able to work both swing and graveyard shift and some weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Employees preforming this job will preforming push/pull and operating small machinery.
  • This job will require the employee to stand 75% or more of the time.
