1. Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to the analysis of information.
a. Patient identification - Introduces self and properly confirms patient identification prior to the start of the procedure.
b. Documentation/ Patient History- Verifies and gathers all relevant information and paperwork for procedure (physicians order, order requisition, pregnancy form as needed, written consent has been obtained.)
c. Assesses factors that contraindicate procedure being performed. (i.e.: written orders, reason for exam, medications, artifacts, lab results, allergies, etc.)
d. Compliant with department standards when performing Universal Protocol to include, but not limited to pre-procedure verification, documentation verification and Time Out.
e. Provides post procedure instructions to patient; follows up with physician(s) when necessary, providing documentation for changes to treatment plan.

2. Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to patient care and patient education.
a. Provides accurate explanations & instructions at an appropriate time and place are a level of understanding to the patient, parent and/or guardian.
b. Patient Comfort/ Anxiety Reduction- determines the need for accessory equipment to maintain a high level of patient care and utilizes the Pain Scale when appropriate, provides reassurance, encouragement and emotional support.
c. Images patient using established Radiologists' protocols and Department guidelines.
d. Assesses images for diagnostic quality and makes modifications as necessary.

3. Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to compliance.
a. Radiation Protection- follows federal and state guidelines to minimize radiation exposure levels to patients, public and staff. (ALARA.) Follows procedure for proper use of personal dosimeter badges, monthly dosimeter badge reports, proper use of patient pocket dosimeter badges, and proper use of lead shielding.
b. Adheres to Code of Ethics; works within their professional scope of practice.
c. Participates in QC/QA/PI programs; submits report documentation within specified timeframe set by department standard.
d. Provides timely, accurate and complete documentation of near misses, occurrences and action plans.
e. Completes Daily Room Check-off sheet and maintains adequate level of supplies in procedure rooms.
f. Assures compliance with Kronos and completes all payroll functions within specified time frame. Ensures completion of payroll exception log as needed.

4. Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to cost effectiveness and productivity.
a. Conserves, preserves and economizes where expendable resources are concerned (Examples: supplies, overtime, pyxis supply stations, and equipment).
b. Performs job functions in a timely manner with accuracy; utilizes Imaging Services department specific programs efficiently, and consistently produces output of sufficient volume.
c. Assesses equipment to determine acceptable performance; tags equipment appropriately and notifies supervisor.

5. Demonstrates competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to professional practice.
a. Press Ganey- actively pursues improving customer service standards; demonstrates and contributes to the customization of Imaging Services practices.
b. Mentors and guides students on selecting appropriate procedures after reviewing data, patient's abilities, and patient's overall condition.
c. Provides a positive role model for students of the Radiologic Technology profession by exhibiting a professional attitude toward students and the teaching process.

6. Demonstrates competencies in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to Diagnostic Radiology procedures, equipment management and protocols.
a. Ability to perform Routine Diagnostic Radiology procedures. Proficient with use of portable x-ray units.
b. Ability to perform routine GI procedures to include contrast administration (ex: Video Swallow, Barium Swallow, UGI, SBFT, and BE studies).
c. Ability to perform Invasive Diagnostic Radiology procedures to include contrast administration (ex: Arthrogram, Arthrocentesis, Myelogram, Intrathecal Chemo Injection, Lumbar Puncture, VCUG, HSG, etc.)
d. Exhibits competencies with Operating Room C-Arms, OR Vascular procedures, Endoscopy C-arm, and Specimen unit.
e. Exhibits competencies in McKesson PACS, HMI web version, and Syngo (RIS) Functions. Familiar with Downtime procedures and follows accordingly.
f. Exhibits competency with Soarian Clinicals and Financials.
g. Ability to perform Special Procedures (SPR) specific to PICC Line Insertion/Exchange. Proficient with use of C-Arm, Ultrasound, Exam Table, and Medication Pyxis.
h. Exhibits competency with Exit 9 Radiology. Follows site specific protocols and procedures.
i. Exhibits competency with Lee Radiology. Follows site specific protocols and procedures.

7. Demonstrates competencies in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to advanced imaging procedures.
a. Exhibits competency with Pain Clinic (CPM) procedures and C-Arm units.
b. Ability to perform Special Procedures (SPR) to include Nephrostomy Tubes, Nephroureteral Stents, PleurX Drainage Catheters, Catheter Patency Checks, etc.

Qualifications
Experience Minimum Required
• Graduate of approved radiology training program or completion of all relevant competencies for graduation from an approved radiology training program.

Education Minimum Required
• Graduate from an approved radiology training program or completion of all relevant competencies for graduation from an approved radiology training program.
Education Preferred/Desired
• ARRT upon hire

Special Skills Minimum Required
• Computer manipulation, verbal and written communication skills, mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative manner.
• Ability to make effective professional judgements and decisions based on objective criteria.

Licensure and/or Certifications Required
• NH State Medical Imaging License by March 30, 2019 or meets Student Waiver status
• ARRT in accordance with NH State Licensing Regulations or within 3 months of graduation
• AHA or ARC BLS within 3 months of hire
