Registered Nurse - CVIR - Per Diem

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Under the direction of the CVS Director and Nurse Manager and within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, responsible for administering moderate sedation, complete admission assessments, recover patients and assist physician with procedures as listed: cardiac and radiology procedures requiring moderate/procedural sedation, circulating or scrubbing in the procedure room, nursing care of the patient undergoing diagnostic cardiac catheterization, implanted Pacemaker/ICD, Interventional Radiology procedures( both within the CVS and in the Radiology Department or Operating Room) as well as assorted diagnostic cardiac procedures performed in the department. Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation. Direct and coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Floating required as needed. On-call is required.

This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

This position reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required; BSN preferred
• Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse (RN) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Require current experience in moderate sedation. Previous catheterization experience/hemodynamic monitoring/Interventional Radiology experience required.
• Demonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills required.
