Job Description
We are seeking a 50% time employee (17.5 hours/week) to serve as a Research Administrator with the Work, Families and Children Research Group's Massachusetts Early Education and Care Funded Grant: CPPI CLASS Training and Support. This grant works with 21 school districts and community-based child care programs throughout the state in promoting high quality early education and care through improved teacher-child interactions in PreK classrooms. The CLASS tool is an observational tool used to measure ten dimensions in classrooms that research has shown lead to better teacher-child interactions resulting in children's increased learning and increased school readiness skills. This position will be located at the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College.

Under the director of the Director (Dr. Wendy Wagner Robeson) and the Operations Manager (Clint Sours), the Research Administrator will work collaboratively to get our work done efficiently and quickly.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Send out recruitment information to our database of over 300 educators regarding new trainings and events throughout the school year.
  • Send out packets regarding our introduction to the CLASS for educators, coaches and leaders.
  • Maintain a database and excel table of all participants for each training.
  • Track and follow up on the participation of each participant with respect to survey completion.
  • Track and follow up on the participation of Leaders and Reliable Raters of other online modules available to them.
  • Track and follow up on the certification of each participant in our reliable rater trainings as well as the re-certification of others.
  • Manage payment of all participants who pass the certification or recertification reliable rater test.
  • Assist with the work done with WFC coaches especially in the area of payment of invoices. Assist with the payment of honorariums to our PLC leaders.
  • Conduct outreach regarding our Professional Learning Communities for educators, leaders, coaches and reliable raters.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Excellent written communication skills (email, flyers, website contributions)
  • Excellent oral communication skills (in-person and over the phone)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and good judgement to prioritize and follow through on work assignments
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work independently
  • High degree of computer and internet skills (Word, Excel, Google Drive, Power Point)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, patience and openness to constructive feedback
Experience Preferred
  • A Bachelor's degree in psychology, education or related field or An Associate's degree with experience
  • Experience in a research or project based setting

  • This position is in-office with some possible early evening work (until 7 pm when we are doing webinars). Desired schedule would be part time 3 days a week to be negotiated between 9am-7 pm.
