Research Analyst, Research and Development

The Research Analyst is responsible for leading the implementation of the research initiative at HITT. In this role, he/she will build and lead research that distinguishes HITT and drives a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The Analyst will have primary responsibility for leading a collaborative effort to collect, analyze, and translate research into meaningful reporting.

Internally, he/she is the primary source, advisor, and collaborator of research for both leadership and team members - cultivating the tools and tactics required to deliver exceptional reporting. He/she is charged with leading internal teams, maintaining internal client relationships, and spearheading new initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the commercial real estate market and experience with the Architecture Engineering and Construction industry. Key to this position are strong collaboration and management skills, writing skills, relationship management, critical thinking, and superb public speaking skills. The ideal candidate is skilled in both internal and external customer service and is comfortable acting as the research liaison to executive leadership. He/she demonstrates a strong ability to lead teams in analyzing data and translate complicated concepts in common terms for the benefit of our team members. They are highly organized, self-motivated, and able to identify key trends for analysis and communication to our internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and write market reports to include analysis of global and U.S. markets and the impact on commercial real estate and construction industries.
  • Maintain intimate and extensive knowledge of the macro and micro factors affecting the marketplace and proactively position research to leverage this knowledge for the business.
  • Understanding of key trends in research and development among the built environment; prioritize topics and themes for leadership to focus on and provide detailed analysis about potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Develop quarterly reports with a focus on market updates, supply chain, and construction input pricing. Identify ways to leverage the content internally and externally to educate our team members and partners.
  • Support the research and analysis for various research and development projects including market analysis, competitor insights, initial return on investment and other meaningful reports.
  • Research external market drivers to understand the overall health of the economy. Provide analysis to inform the corporate strategy and utilize findings for entry into new geographic markets, project types, and work types.
  • Maintain industry knowledge by proactively managing data sources, local business periodicals, tracking current real estate trends, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Develop original and impactful content including articles, reports, presentations, and white papers to display expertise of market knowledge.
  • Collaborate with marketing/communications team leaders to create compelling reports, and presentations that leverage our knowledge to benefit our clients.
  • Develop regular presentations of the commercial real estate market's performance and outlook to leverage with executive leadership and at relevant Client events.
  • Act as corporate liaison for overall research efforts and develop research tools such as calendars and workflows to increase productivity and effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Education and Training: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Architecture/Engineering/Construction, Real Estate, or Finance.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret data. Self-starter, proactive, strategic thinking and the ability to align research with the business. Strong knowledge of financial terms and ability to conduct analyses.
  • Excellent writing, communication and public speaking skills are required.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing process, creating efficiencies, and providing metrics to prove ROI.
  • Strict attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects across a variety of functions
  • Ability to prioritize while working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple projects with changing priorities.
