The Department of Public Health is currently seeking a temporary Research Assistant to work in Miami. The Research Assistant contributes with research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols. Further, the Research Assistant performs a clerical role to ensure the smooth operations of office facilities.
Core Job Summary
1. Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus and makes minor repairs.
2. Prepares correspondence and answers phones.
3. Formulates and maintains bibliographies and completes applications and forms.
4. Orders laboratory supplies and maintains culture media reagents.
5. Reviews and edits various materials for publication and prepares publication schedules.
6. Maintains appropriate logs, records, and study notebooks.
7. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
8. Contributes to basic and applied research activities by collecting data and maintaining databases adequately.
9. Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
10. Participates in consenting process.
11. Translates study documents.
12. Maintains an overview of the recruitment process.
13. Formulates and maintains bibliographies and completes applications and forms.
14. Organizes and maintains a system for monitoring of subjects enrolled on longitudinal studies and assures collection of data in a timely manner.
15. Prepares and organizes data to promote efficient computer entry.
16. Participates in the consent process as guided by institutional policy and assists with the development of the consent forms.
17. Communicates with internal and/or external regulatory oversight entities (e.g. IRB, NIH).

Core Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's or Master's degree in public health or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
