Summary:
Performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests and experimental procedures for the purposes of original research which generally are within a well-defined body of scientific knowledge and typically contribute to larger research efforts of independent investigators.

Our laboratory is broadly interested in transcriptional regulation and cell-fate determination in cancer cell biology and treatment. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled candidate to work on a novel family of transcriptional and cell-fate regulators in cancer cell biology and treatment response, and stem cell biology. The candidate should have background experience in: cell culture methods; molecular biology techniques including western blotting and RT-PCR; laboratory research statistics; willingness to learn new techniques. Also preferred is experience in: cancer hallmark assays such as cell motility, invasiveness, and apoptosis; mouse models; stem cell assays; drug sensitivity assays; and ability to design and perform custom/novel biochemical experiments. The candidate will be expected to participate in preparation of manuscripts and protocols, presenting in weekly lab meetings, and participating in departmental work-in-progress meetings. A candidate with a Ph.D. degree is preferred.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

1. Master's degree and the equivalent of eighteen (18) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment; or
2. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of thirty (30) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment.

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
