The Department of Pediatrics (DOP), Section of Infectious Diseases has an opening for a full-time Research Services Professional to work at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.

Nature of Work:

The major function of the Research Services Professional is to provide day-to-day administrative assistance with clinical trials to the Research Services Manager and Principal Investigator (PI). This position involves organization and maintenance of clinical trial related documentation, expense management, scheduling research meetings and adhering to deadlines, and additional research related administrative duties.

Examples of Work Performed:
    Administrative support of clinical trials. Maintain current files on all grant applications and approvals. Develop and maintain comprehensive calendar that includes all grant start, end and renewal dates, as well as all report submission deadlines. Assist PI/Research Services Manager to assemble all proposal elements including Specific Aims, Research Strategy, References, Budgets, Biosketches, Facilities & Resources, Protection of Human Subjects, Letters of Support, and others as appropriate, and to complete related online applications. Review applications for consistency, accuracy, and completeness. General administrative support. Support office management functions such as, setting up and maintaining files, receiving, and referring inbound calls and ordering supplies. Purchase and maintain equipment and equipment leases; requesting repair and/or maintenance as needed. Creation and submission of CU Marketplace purchase requisitions for purchases related to research, as needed. Maintain records for all equipment including capital equipment purchased for use by PI and Staff. Assist PI with submission of manuscripts. Arrange and schedule meetings, including conference calls. All other research-related duties as assigned. Prepare and process staff business credit card expenses, mileage, and travel reports, along with other misc. expense reimbursements. Maintain financial backup materials as required by the funder and University. Special projects and other duties as required or assigned by the PI and Research Services Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Intermediate Level:
    Bachelor's degree in a related field One year of professional level experience in Business administration

Senior Level:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or related field
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis
  • Two (2) year professional level research experience

  • Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    Conditions of Employment:
    • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
    • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

    Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
    • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
    • Knowledge of basic of medical terminology
    • Ability to interpret and master research protocol information

    Salary and Benefits:

    The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at

    Intermediate: $48,321 to $61,634.

    Senior: $52,239-$66,448

    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

    The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

    This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
