The Merchandise Department focuses on offering a great shopping experience and we thrive on teaching Merchandising skill with setting up displays that everyone can enjoy and shop from. It's our mission to help Carowinds Guests find the perfect memento of their visit so we're looking for people with a desire to help others, a friendly disposition, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

 

  • Demonstrates and sells merchandise to guests utilizing knowledge of products. 
  • Operates cash register and gives correct change. 
  • Displays merchandise and suggestively sells products to guests emphasizing key selling points or sales promotions. 
  • Monitors sales floor to avoid/deter theft of merchandise. 
  • Serves homemade products such as candy apples, fudge, and gourmet chocolates to guests in a safe and sanitary manner. Maintains cleanliness of sales floor. Cleans display tables, fixtures and gondolas as needed. Performs general cleaning duties such as dusting fixtures, emptying trash, sweeping, mopping etc.
  • Stocks shelves, fixtures, gondolas, counters and racks with merchandise. Retrieves boxed merchandise from back storage areas to stock the sales floor.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the workspace including cash wrap. 

Positions are currently available for those who are 16 or older.

How You'll Make A Difference:

Our associates are crucial to providing guests with a variety of engaging activities that reflect and uphold our five core values of Courtesy, Service, Cleanliness, Safety, and Integrity and promote inclusion among all associates.


We're Looking For:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to understand English at a level sufficient to receive and perform basic job assignments and instructions.
  • Ability to operate a cash register effectively after completion of Merchandise Training.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
