RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifies safety compliance or non-compliance by inspecting project site and working environment.
• Identifies personal safety compliance or non-compliance by observing employees' and subcontractors' behaviors and use of protective equipment.
• Prepares employees by developing and conducting safety training orientation classes and coaching employees.
• Assures safety equipment functioning by inspecting and testing equipment and alarms.
• Inspect and evaluate work areas for hazards and unsafe working conditions and takes necessary action.
• Investigates accidents, files reports, and analyzes nature of accident to determine cause and necessary corrective action.
• Contribute to EHS Department by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
• Effectively develop and apply the core skills to the job.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Minimum 3 years EHS work experience, with 1 year in similar industry.
• Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) preferred
• 10-hours formal safety training in past 3 years.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to interact professionally with employees and clients of various levels.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
